DAY #1
Ms. Witte already wrote a little, but I'll add my two cents and a couple of pictures.
Everything went smoothly today, although Nana (Baxter) and Mickey (Dickerson) have a terrible tendancy to try and avoid my taking pictures of them. But I still managed to catch them, and they know they cannot run forever.
Our plane arrived in France early, but most of the French families were already waiting for us. It was great to see everyone meeting their buddies, and the inevitable-but-cute awkwardness that comes with it. I even felt «americanly» weird myself when the French teacher insisted on kissing me on the cheeks. Who does that? Well, apparently, we French people do. But anyway, the French families looked incredibly nice and warm, and our students are in great hands!
All our Auks are now with their French families until tomorrow morning, when we’ll all go together to Paris, to the musée d’Orsay, les Champs Elysées, etc.
